Mid-Atlantic Milling Day Celebrations


The Mid-Atlantic Chapter of SPOOM Board has declared May 29 to June 30 as Mid-Atlantic Milling Days 2017 to celebrate the importance and impact of milling in the Mid-Atlantic states. Individual sites are encouraged to select the day or days that best suit their site and schedule and plan activities to educate the public about their particular site as well as the general history of milling

2017 Events

Saturday June 10th from 10 am until 3 pm Abbotts Mill Nature Center (15411 Abbotts Pond Rd., Milford, DE 19963) will host a gathering of Antique Small Engines and FORD Model T’s and Model A’s Tto celebrate the recent restoration of our 1919 Fairbanks-Morse 20 HP light oil engine, Admission is FREE for Delaware Nature Society members, $5 for non-members. Our huge engine will be running all day long and tours of Abbotts Mill will be held hourly. There will also be food trucks and hay rides. (No charge for demonstrators)

June 10-11 Southern York County PA: featuring Eden Mill (former municipal power station), Woolen Mill (with Aeromotor windmills), Muddy Creek Forks Mill (commercial roller mill with grain elevators, general store and railroad) and Wallace Cross Mill (water-wheel powered custom mill)
